Emergency services are currently conducting a thorough search ofthe Corran area following reports of an empty canoe in the water.
The empty vessel was seen floating within the Corran Ferry area shortly before 4pm by a concerned member of the public; sparking a major response from emergency teams.
Police Scotland were first notified of the search at 3.45pm and have since conducted a thorough search of the area.
A spokesman from the force said offices had found nothing ‘untoward’ had been discovered in the area to suggest that the vessel was occupied at the time.
Officers at the scene have also been joined by members of the Fort William Coastguard Rescue Team and Oban Lifeboat to aid in the search after the Stornoway Coastguard received the call around 3.50pm.
The search remains ongoing.
