Two persons have been injured following a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Skye this afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly before 1.50pm on the A87, around one mile north of the Sligachan Hotel. As a result the road was closed as officers conducted investigation works, however, reopened at 6.45pm.

A police spokeswoman said: “We are currently still on scene but the road has reopened in the last half an hour. Two persons have been injured.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 1.48pm and upon arrival found all persons out of the vehicles. Crews from Portree and Broadford attended, with a trauma pack and small tools used as firefighters assisted paramedics in providing care to the casualties.
The occupants of one vehicle, two adults and two children, were said to be walking wounded by a spokeswoman. A male and a female occupied the second vehicle; however, their condition is currently unknown.
A stop message was received by the fire service at 3.15pm.
A diversion route was put in place via Struan and over the hill road to Portree.
