Army Cadets from Ardersier have represented the Highlands and Islands as part of a First World War research project that was presented in Edinburgh.
Cadet Tamzin Gordon, 16, and Cadet Will Nicol, 15, from 1st Battalion The Highlanders Ardersier Detachment, represented the Battalion in the annual Alban Sodger research project at Edinburgh Castle.
The project, ran as part of the centenary of the First World War, aimed to encourage Army Cadet detachments across Scotland to research the impact of the War on individuals who served in the forces and on the local communities those individuals came from.
They researched the history of those soldiers whose names appear on their local war memorials within their respective detachment’s areas.
In Edinburgh the cadets delivered their presentations to a panel of experts for judging.
The cadets received a tour of the castle, as well as witness the firing of the one o’clock Gun.
The Ardersier team finished a close second to overall winners Glasgow and Lanarkshire Army Cadet Force.
