Female patients in two highland towns are to benefit from breast screenings in the New Year as the mobile unit tours the North of Scotland.
Women between the ages of 50 and 70 who are registered with Alness and Invergordon Medical Group will each receive an invitation to attend the unit for a check-up when the unit arrives in Invergordon in January.
The unit, operated by the NHS, will stop off at the car park of Invergordon Community Hospital from January 3 until early March and all female residents are being encouraged to take up the opportunity.
The mobile screening unit is equipped with state of the art breast x-ray (mammography) equipment and staffed by an experienced all-female team.
The appointments are a vital component in detecting early stages of breast cancer and increases the chances of survival.
