Emma Barton died in a collision in Orkney last week
Miss Barton from Stromness was the driver of a black Vauxhall Corsa which was involved in an incident on the A965 near Rennibister around 7.30am on Tuesday, November 27.
The 22-year-old was treated at the Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall before being transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where she died on Sunday.
A male passenger from the car suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident and was treated at the Balfour Hospital.
Sergeant Alan Henderson said: “Our thoughts are with Emma’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“We would ask anyone with any information about this incident which has not yet been passed to police to call 101 quoting reference NK1701/18.”
