Efforts to trace a 36-year-old man reported missing in Sutherland have continued today.
Peter Henry Todd was last seen in the Bettyhill area yesterday evening but has not been heard from since.
He is described as white, around 5ft9in, of a medium build and is balding.
Police said he has a Lancashire accent.
He was last seen wearing an orange bobble hat, a beige and dark blue fleece, light coloured jeans or trousers, black shoes or trainers and a black backpack.
Inspector Jamie Wilson said: “Peter is known to travel by bus and he may be in the Bettyhill or Farr area.
“We are continuing with searches supported by the Coastguard and Mountain Rescue Team whilst making enquiries to establish Peter’s last movements.
“It is extremely unusual for him to not be in touch with anyone and as more time passes our concern for him grows.
“I would urge anyone who knows where Peter might be, or if you have seen a man matching his description, to please call 101 as soon as possible quoting ref. no. 2157 of Dec 11.
“Likewise I also appeal directly to Peter to get in touch if you see this appeal – we just want to make sure you are OK.”
