Royal Dornoch Golf Club is providing a New Year gift to neighbours by making £10,000 available for community projects.
The club set up a community fund three years ago to support local groups and has since distributed £30,500 to worthy causes.
It is now seeking applications to a new round of funding to be distributed in February, using a percentage of the net green fee income from visiting players.
The fund has assisted a wide range of organisations, with the most recent recipients including organisations supporting young people, elderly residents and disadvantaged groups, as well as local history, cinema and beach regeneration projects.
Neil Hampton, Royal Dornoch Golf Club’s general manager, said: “The fund has been a great success and has allowed the club to assist many organisations in the community.
“This year, we have distributed £10,500 and supported 22 local projects. We are now making another £10,000 available in 2019 and welcome applications from all eligible groups.”
Applications for funding should be sent, no later than January 31 2019 to Neil Hampton at Royal Dornoch Club Golf, Golf Rd, Dornoch IV25 3LW or neil@royaldornoch.com
Applicants should provide details about their organisation, what the funding will be used for and how it will benefit their work and the area.
Awards must be used for the purpose of contributing to the common good of the local community.
The fund is controlled by Royal Dornoch’s council of management. Organisations based within the IV25 postcode can apply for donations of up to £500 with payments determined by a committee comprising three past club captains and two representatives from Dornoch Area Community Council. Organisations can apply for more than one project.
