Police have named the climber who died after falling on Ben Nevis on Sunday. Patrick Boothroyd was recovered by the HM Coastguard helicopter and taken to the Belford Hospital in Fort William, where he died from his injuries. The 21-year-old from the West Yorkshire suffered the fall while climbing in the Tower Gully area of the mountain. A second male climber was also rescued from the area and taken to Belford Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries. A police statement said: “Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this time.”
