Tributes continued to pour in for a bus driver who died in a crash on the Black Isle as he was last night officially named by police as 50-year-old Mohamed Chache from Inverness.
Police also issued a photograph of Mr Chache, who was affectionately known by passengers and friends as “Smiler” because of his warm nature.
A Crowdfunding campaign launched by a colleague of the driver at Stagecoach – to assist his family towards funeral costs – had last night passed the half-way mark of a £2,000 target.

The tragedy happened at around 5.40pm on Friday at Littlemill Bridge on the B9161, near Munlochy, as the 37-seat bus which had been travelling towards Cromarty.
There were nine passengers on the bus at the time of the collision, three of which remain in hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
The remaining passengers suffered minor injuries and have been released from hospital.
Police sergeant Alan Henderson said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Chache’s family and friends at this time, as well as everyone affected by this tragic incident.
“We are grateful to everyone who assisted our ongoing investigation so far.
“Several witnesses have come forward already but I would ask anyone who believes they may have information but has not yet spoken to us to come forward.”
Flowers have been left outside the city’s bus station, as well as at the scene.
Mr Chache’s wife Sandra told The Press and Journal: “I very much appreciate the many tributes for Mo and the numerous messages of support.”
Stagecoach described Mr Chache, who was originally from Zanzibar, as a loyal and popular member of staff.
Tributes also continued on social media.
Lianne Cumming said: “Fantastic man who always helped and was just so nice to everyone. Can’t believe how cruel life is to take someone so kind-heart. You’re going to be missed. Keep smiling up there xxx.”
Jacquie Urquhart added: “RIP Mo. Unbelievable you have gone so soon. Always so happy and cheerful.”
And Janice Robertson said: “One of the loveliest, cheeriest, most helpful drivers I’ve seen.”
