A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a disturbance in Castletown.
The 33-year-old was transferred to Caithness General Hospital after officers were called to the address on Harland Road at around 1.55am this morning.
His injuries are serious but are not believed to be non-life threatening.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the disturbance.
Detective Inspector Richard Baird said: “Our inquiries into this incident are ongoing and at an early stage.
“However, we have established that this was a contained incident and there is not believed to have been any risk to the wider public.
“A police presence will be maintained in the area for the time being as inquiries continue and we are grateful to the local community for their understanding.”
