Some of the best-known music acts in the north are coming together to support Roz Paterson’s Go Fund Me campaign for potentially lifesaving cancer treatment in America.
A concert, called Rocking for Roz, is to be held in Inverness Leisure on Friday, February 22, featuring a number of local musicians, including Scooty and The Skyhooks, Torridon, Highland Voices and Kinky Karma. More artists are to be announced in the run-up to the concert.
Mrs Paterson said: “I’m bowled over by the scale and ambition of this event, and by the time and talent given by these musicians to help fund my life-saving treatment. For me, this has been the worst of times, but also the best of times, to feel the support and energy and raw, human goodness of so many people…wow, I’m sure it’s a cancer-fighting drug in itself. I’m sure it will be a fantastic night, and I want to say thank you to everyone involved.”
All proceeds from the evening show will go towards Roz Paterson’s fundraising campaign as the mother-of-two hopes to raise £500,000 for Car-T Cell Therapy using a medicine called Kymriah at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital.

Roz was first diagnosed with lymphoma cancer last summer and in September, she learnt that the chemotherapy wasn’t working. The treatment she is currently seeking isn’t available on the NHS in Scotland.
The local community has got on board to support Roz’s appeal. This concert is being organised by a consortium of local businesses, which work in the music industry locally.
In a statement, the concert organisers said: “Roz’s story is truly heart breaking and when we heard of her plight to fundraise for treatment, immediately we knew we had to do something to help.
“Rocking for Roz is all about bringing together the local community to enjoy an evening of music and dance from some of the best artists from the North of Scotland, whilst raising vital funds for Roz Paterson. Please, please come and join us and support Roz’s appeal.”
