A Coastguard search and rescue helicopter was tasked to assist in the medical transfer of a patient from Oban to Glasgow in the late hours of Wednesday evening, after the patient’s condition deteriorated at the Lorn and Islands Hospital.
The search and rescue helicopter from Prestwick attended the West Highland town after an initial call was received at 10.50pm by the Coastguard.
The helicopter, with a retrieval team on board, landed in Oban before transferring the patient to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the south-west of Glasgow.
A spokesman for the Coastguard confirmed the helicopter touched down in the city at 1.30am.
