Fire crews battled tirelessly throughout the early hours of this morning after reports were received of a blaze at the Galston Trust Estate’s offices on Lewis.
The building, situated near to Tom na Ba on the north-west of the Hebridean isle, is operated by the community landowner the Galston Estate Trust.
A fire spokeswoman confirmed a call was received shortly after 1.35am with two crews from Port of Ness and Shawbost tasked to attend the blaze.
Firefighters used three main jets; hose reel jets, ground monitors and water from nearby hydrants to extinguish the fire, with the spokeswoman confirming the stop message from crews was received at 7.37am.
The cause of the fire is at this stage unknown.
Two further crews from Stornoway also attended, with the spokeswoman confirming this was for water purposes.
Police were also made aware of the incident and were in attendance.
