The case of a missing Highland League footballer is linked to a weekend incident in which a woman was injured, it has emerged.
Police are continuing to appeal for help tracing Richard Finnis, who plays for Strathspey Thistle. He was reported missing from the Kinmylies area of Inverness.
The 30-year-old was last seen around 1.20pm on Saturday on Kinmylies Way. It is believed he left the area in a blue Citroen C3 – registration SD18 WKE.
Meanwhile, in the same area of the city at around 1pm on Saturday, a 30-year-old woman suffered injuries and was taken to Raigmore Hospital. A police spokesman said: “Nobody else was injured. Officers attended the scene and are working to establish the full circumstances.”
It is understood that the two incidents are linked. An update on the woman’s condition was not available last night, however she was described as being “awake” on Sunday.
Neither Mr Finnis nor his car have been seen since Saturday and officers are urging anyone with information which could assist to get in touch.
It is believed he may have travelled in the direction of Beauly and Kiltarlity.
He is described as being around 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, with dark coloured hair and blue coloured eyes.
When he was last seen he was wearing a sky blue tracksuit top, light blue jeans or tracksuit bottoms and a dark grey bobble hat.
Detective Sergeant Craig Still said: “We are continuing to ask people to be alert and report anything which could help us locate Richard.
“In particular we would ask people to watch out for his Citroen C3 car and let us know if you believe you have seen this vehicle.
“I would urge people who may have dashcam footage to review this in case you have seen the car and get in touch if you find anything of note.

“If you recognise the vehicle described please get in touch. We would urge members of the public not to approach Richard but to contact police in the first instance.
“Anyone who has seen Richard or may have information as to his whereabouts to contact us on 101.”
The star, who plays in defence for the Grantown-on-Spey side, was unavailable for selection as his team defeated Lossiemouth 1-0 in the Highland League at the weekend.
Mr Finnis had joined North Caledonian League outfit Inverness Athletic on loan from his parent club in December.
He was called back to the Strathspey fold towards the end of January.
