Drone footage shot by Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team has highlighted a heroic rescue by its members who abseiled 100 metres down a cliff face to rescue two stranded climbers.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon on Buachaille Etive Mor, after mist engulfed the adventurers before they found themselves in difficulty and called for help from the rescue team.
Andy Nelson, leader of the GMRT, said: “Three of us set off to help, as in that situation, you don’t want too many people on that loose wet rocky ground.
“Around 12 to 15 further team members took up their position on the hill below where the climbers were, where they were not subject to any hazard.

“It was a really nice operation. It’s not every day you are doing something a bit more technical and it was particularly nice as we knew the outcome was going to be good because nobody was injured.
“It never ceases to amaze me how brave people are and how willing they are to stick their necks on the line to help others. Everyone on this team does this work and loves being on the hill.
“It was great, good craic and a good outcome.”
Mr Nelson praised the climbers for calling for help when in need and encouraged others who found themselves in danger to follow suit.
He added: “It was a perfectly innocent mistake these guys made, but they did the right thing to call for help rather than do anything silly.
“In poor visibility, we all need to be clever about how we navigate and we have to be careful, particularly when it is misty, as it is easy to end up on difficult ground quickly.”
The footage was captured by team member Ewen Lawrie on his own personal drone.
