A five-star visitor attraction on Skye is to open its doors early this year as it extends its season in response to Skye’s growing popularity as a tourism destination.
Armadale Castle, Gardens and Museum will open next Monday with a full programme of events for all ages and interests.
The popular visitor experience is to open from Monday to Friday during both March and November, with a full seven-day opening from April until the end of October.
Sue Geale, museum manager, said: “We had a great season last year with lots of positive feedback from both local residents and visitors. The new cafe, family activities and musical events were particularly successful and we are delighted to be building on those in our programme this year.
“We’re greatly looking forward to opening on March 4 and welcoming both local friends and visitors from around the globe.”
Families are the big focus this year for the team at Armadale, with an Exhibition Explorers programme set to be launched, where babies and toddlers can enjoy games, stories and songs on museum-related themes.
New play equipment has also been added to the gardens, thanks to funding from Museums Galleries Scotland.
A business open day is being held at Armadale Castle on April 4, where businesses are invited to meet the team, take a garden or museum tour and sample refreshments.
