An 18-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash on the A82 at Dochgarroch.
The incident, which involved a silver Ford Galaxy and blue Renault Clio, took place at around 10.21pm last night.
Police have now launched an investigation after the driver of the Renault Clio was fatally injured.
The female driver of the Ford Galaxy sustained minor injuries.
Two fire appliances attended the scene and extinguished the Clio which they described as ‘well alight.’
The crews made the scene safe and returned to base shortly after 11.30pm.
Sergeant Alasdair Mackay of the Road Policing Unit, Highlands and Islands Division, said: “Our thoughts at this time are with those involved and their families and friends. An investigation into the collision is underway and we have already spoken to a number of witnesses.
“In order to help establish the cause of the collision I would urge anyone who may have seen either vehicle on the evening of the collision travelling  on the A82 who has not already come forward, to do so.
“Likewise if any motorists believe they may have dashcam footage which could assist our inquiries, I appeal for them to come forward.”
