A man’s body has been recovered in the Killilan area of Lochalsh.
The 56-year-old hillwalker’s body was discovered this morning by an HM Coastguard helicopter carrying out an aerial search of the area.
A search was launched following concerns raised for the walker by local members of the public when he was not seen at his camper van having set off on a planned walk in the Killilan area.
The man was found dead with injuries consistent with having suffered a fall.
His next of kin are aware.
The Kintail and RAF mountain rescue teams and the Search and Rescue Dogs Association were also involved in the operation.
Sergeant Andrew Shaw said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this time.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course, as is standard practice.
“I would like to thank our partners at HM Coastguard and mountain rescue for their assistance with this operation.”
