A significant donation from Highland Cross has allowed Shopmobility Lochaber to purchase a new van to serve its users.
The award of £27,076 has been made by the charity.
The new multi-purpose Vauxhall Vivaro van allows the charity to continue its work to combat isolation and allow for greater independence for its users.
Charity organising secretary Calum Munro said: "Highland Cross is proud to once again support the work of Shopmobility Lochaber with the grant of £27,076 from the 2018 event funds for their new van.
"The work of Shopmobility Lochaber to combat isolation and increase the independence of their service users greatly impressed the independent charity selection panel.
“The event organisers are delighted that Shopmobility Lochaber are supplying 20 volunteers to the 2019 event which aims to raise yet more funds for fellow Highland charities.
"Commitment of this kind is a testament to the quality of the folk involved in Shopmobility Lochaber."
The new vehicle, with a larger loading space, has a purpose-built folding ramp and with its high top means a whole range of scooters will be transportable in the van.
Julie Wileman, project co-ordinator for Shopmobility Lochaber said: “We are thrilled with the support we have had from Highland Cross and are looking forward to helping them at their next event on June 22."
