Organisers of the Eilean Dorcha Festival in North Uist have announced English country singer Nathan Carter as the headline act for 2019.
The festival, based on the Isle of Benbecula, entertains a mix of all music genres spanning from ceilidh to reggae, while also including workshops, a circus and games.
The event has come to be known as The Friendly Festival for its open and welcoming nature and is to take place from Friday, July 26, to Sunday, July 28.
Announcing his performance via his twitter page, Nathan Carter said: “I’m really looking forward to visiting this stunning place for the first time.”
The singer, famed for his hit Temple Bar, is currently touring Germany, with the performance in Benbecula coming on the back of five other Scottish dates, including Perth and Aberdeen, before wowing crowds at Inverness’ Eden Court Theatre for four nights beginning on Wednesday, September 11.
Mr Carter will be joined at The Friendly Festival by famed west coast acts Skerryvore, Vatersay Boys and Trail West, with the vibrant Beinn Lee and Ho-Ro also scheduled to appear in Benbecula, among a whole host of other acts.
