Cordons are currently in place around Cromarty Harbour following the discovery of a suspected piece of ordnance.
The unknown object was first discovered around 12pm today in the harbour area, sparking a hasty response from emergency teams.
All access roads to the harbour have been closed by police as officials work to make the area safe.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts have been contacted and are expected to arrive on scene shortly.
A police spokesman said there is “no threat to the wider public.”
