The only survivor of the Ben Nevis avalanche has returned home just three days after the tragedy which claimed the lives of his three companions.
Swiss national Mathieu Biselx was climbing the UK’s highest peak when a wave of snow swept him and his friends down the mountain.
He was reunited with family and friends on Friday after being discharged from Belford Hospital in Fort William.
He was interviewed by local media and pictured with his family, including his wife and year-old daughter, in his apartment overlooking the valley of the Rhone.
Mathieu is president of the Swiss Alpine Club of Sion and in his latest interview paid homage to his friends who tragically died in the avalanche last Tuesday.
The three men killed have only been named as Cedric, Raph and Adrien, from Switzerland and France.
In his tribute, he said: “Thank you for your friendship. Have a nice trip to your new mountains.
“My thoughts turn especially to your families. I’m wearing you in my hear forever.”
