Lifeboat crews were called after a person fell into the water.
Two kayakers were on holiday and were out in Oban bay when one of them fell into the water at around 4pm yesterday.
A spokesman for Oban RNLI said: “Having no wetsuit on the casualty quickly became cold and was unable to get himself back on to his kayak.”
The town’s lifeboat crew were already out on the water doing an onboard coxswain assessment and were only a few minutes away.
Once on the scene, the kayaker was taken onboard for warning and assessed by a crew member and doctor, Colin Wilson.
“The lifeboat proceeded back to her berth where the casualty was transferred to the care of Oban’s Coastguard Rescue Team, allowing the lifeboat to resume their assessment exercise,” the spokesman said.
