Searches are currently ongoing to locate a missing person on the Isle of Raasay.
Police in Skye are currently carrying out enquiries to trace 73-year-old Alistair Lovie who has been reported missing from the Inverarish area of the Isle of Raasay.
Mr Lovie was last seen walking at a disused mine area north of Inverarish about 11am today.
Members of Portree lifeboat launched around 5:30pm to join coastguard rescue teams and the coastguard rescue helicopter to locate the missing individual.
A spokesman from Shetland Coastguard described the incident as “high risk” but said searches were ongoing to locate their whereabouts.
Police have stated that the missing man suffers from dementia, and that there are “concerns for him at this time.”
Mr Lovie is described as 5ft 10, medium build with brown hair and blue eyes.
When last seen he was wearing a black jacket, jeans, a black cap, a blue shirt and a red jumper.
Police sergeant David Canning, of Portree police office said:
“We are growing increasingly concerned for Alistair as he suffers from dementia and is likely to have lost his way whilst out walking.
“Alistair is reasonably physically fit but he may be in a confused state.
“I would urge anyone who was walking in the Rasaay area today or who lives in the area and has seen Alistair today to contact Portree Police on 101.”
