Three fire crews are currently attending to reports of a wildfire near Dulthil between Carrbridge and Grantown on Spey.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a call was recieved at 6.38pm with one crew from Aviemore initially tasked to the incident.
Two further crews from Carrbridge and Grantown on Spey are also en route to the incident.
It is understood a fire has broken out in the trees.
Crews are currently walking to the area affected to assess the impact and tackle any spreading wildfire.
The spokeswoman added: “There is controlled burning taking place in the area at this time but we understand that this is not linked to that.”
