Picture courtesy of reader Natalie Bodiam. Two fire crews from Fort William were called to help a Highland cow stuck in a bog today. The cow was found struggling near Steps Cottage, at Canal Bridge in Banavie. The crews were called out at around 3.30pm. The managed to release the stricken animal from the bog in just under an hour. Earlier in the day, fire crews were called to a similar scene in Arisaig where an 18-year-old cow had become trapped in a bog. It was rescued shortly after 1pm.
