Several people have been taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following a two-car collision in the Tain area.
The incident, involving a Vauxhall Vectra and a Skoda Octavia, occurred shortly before 2pm yesterday near Knockbeck Road at the south end of the village.
Three fire crews from Tain, Golspie and Dornoch were sent to the scene as was ambulance paramedics and police.
The drivers and the occupants of each vehicle were transferred to Raigmore Hospital for further treatment.
A police spokesman said their injuries were “not believed to be life threatening”, but there was no further update.
Officers closed the road for some time to allow emergency services to work at the scene.
