Ferry operator CalMac has introduced new measures to improve their online reservations system.
Users will now be able to save their payment details and make changes to reservations online, which previously they have not been able to do.
The saved payment cards feature will allow registered customers to securely store their details for future bookings, a move designed to save time when booking again.
Customers will now be able to make changes to their bookings, changing the time, date and number of people travelling online through the CalMac website.
CalMac’s head of customer services, Alan Hood said: “Feedback from our customers told us that they wanted an improved ability to ‘self-serve’ tickets, and modifications to bookings, 24-hours a day.
“We are delighted to introduce two new functions to our ticketing and reservations system to address these needs.
“Launching online amends and saved payment card functionality is an important part of our drive to improve the customer experience, making booking and travelling with CalMac more seamless and flexible for all customers.”
Last year, 5.2 million passengers travelled on the CalMac fleet, spanning 33 vessels across 26 routes to island and remote destinations.
The ferry company is the largest ferry operator in the UK.
