Police are appealing for information following a break-in at a remote supermarket in Sutherland.
The thieves forced their way into the Spar store in Kinlochbervie – just off the popular North Coast 500 route – causing extensive damage.
A sum of money was stolen from the premises some time between the evening of Saturday and 9am on Sunday.
Detective Inspector Scott Macdonald said: “This is an extremely unusual incident for somewhere such as Kinlochbervie and we are working to identify whoever is responsible.
“Anyone who may have seen any peoples or vehicles acting suspiciously in the area during the weekend is asked to come forward and contact Police Scotland on 101.
