An elderly passenger is currently being evacuated by the Stornoway coastguard search and rescue helicopter after reports were received of the casualty falling unwell.
A call was received by the coastguard at 5.13pm with Rescue 948 from Stornoway deployed to provide assistance.
A spokesman said: “We have received reports from a cruise vessel of a passenger requiring evacuation due to illness.
“A winchman was lowered down and the casualty was uplifted around 7.50pm
“The helicopter is currently en route to Raigmore Hospital with the casualty on board.”
