North lifeboat crew rescue two people stranded on yacht

A lifeboat crew has rescued two people from a stranded yacht.
The RNLI Invergordon All-weather Trent Class Lifeboat ‘Douglas Aikman Smith’ left her berth with seven crew on board and headed west towards Invergordon Sailing
Club.
Shortly after crew spotted the vessel with two persons on board.
The lifeboat was manoeuvred into position and the two sailors safely transferred over from the yacht.
A RNLI spokesman said: “Happy the 22ft yacht was secure on a newly placed mooring, the two persons were then transported back to Invergordon West Harbour to be reunited with awaiting family.
“Local Coastguard teams arrived on scene at the sailing club and assisted with recovery
of stricken tender vessel along with a RNLI volunteer. The Lifeboat was back alongside, refuelled and made ready for service by 10:10pm.”
