A 70-year-old woman has been airlifted from a Skye beauty spot this evening with an ankle injury.
Coastguard search and rescue helicopter, Rescue 948 from Stornoway, was deployed to assist the casualty, with the incident occurring at the Old Man of Storr in the north end of the island.
A spokeswoman said: “We received reports of an injured hillwalker on Skye at the Old Man of Storr around 5.30pm.
“Our search and rescue helicopter, Rescue 948, has airlifted the casualty to the airstrip at Ashaig, where they touched down around 7.30pm.
“Kyle and Portree coast rescue teams were on hand to man the site, before she was taken on to Broadford Hospital.
“The 70-year-old female casualty has sustained an ankle injury.”
