A busy tourist route will be partially shut for road works later this month – resulting in a 28-mile diversion.
Half a mile of road at Fort Augustus Swing Bridge, on the A82, will be resurfaced from June 16.
As a result, part of the road at the village will be closed overnight from 9pm-6pm.
Diversions will be place, taking motorists on a 28-mile journey along the A887 from Invermoriston to Bun Loyne, the A87 towards Invergarry.
Work is expected to by complete by 6am on June 20.
Eddie Ross, Bear Scotland’s north west representative, said: “The traffic management is essential for ensuring the safety of road workers and motorists during the overnight project.
“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption as much as possible including scheduling the project to take place overnight and avoiding working on Friday and Saturday nights.
“Our teams will do all they can to limit the impact to motorists and complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.”
Local residents will still manage to gain access.
