A male walker had to be airlifted from a Skye beauty spot this afternoon after falling and sustaining injuries to his leg and shoulder.
The man, understood to be in his 70s, was airlifted from the Quiraing to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following a multi-agency search operation.
A coastguard spokeswoman said: “We received a call from Police Scotland at 1.20pm to provide air support for the Skye Mountain Rescue Team for a fallen walker.
“We sent the Stornoway coastguard helicopter to assist.
“The helicopter arrived on scene at 2.20pm and lowered a winchman paramedic down to stabilise and prepare the casualty for uplift.
“By 3.20pm the casualty was aboard the helicopter before being transferred on to Raigmore Hospital.”
