Emergency crews made their way to the junction to Wester Hardmuir Fruit Farm near Nairn on the Inverness to Aberdeen trunk road. The collision involving a Volkswagen Golf, a Volkswagen Polo, a Fiat Panda, a Ford S-MAX and a Renault Megane took place shortly after 1pm. Three fire appliances were dispatched to the scene alongside the heavy duty unit from Inverness. The road remained blocked in both directions for some time as teams continued to work to clear the road before reopening around 2.30pm. It is understood one casualty was trapped but later released by the paramedics.
