There was a Father’s Day treat for dozens of Oban dads yesterday as a dazzling array of classic cars went on show.
The exhibition, at Corachie Garden Centre in Taynuilt, transported many visitors down memory lane as they looked on in admiration at vehicles dating as far as eight decades back.
This year, one exhibit overshadowed them all – a domineering 20ft high Scania T Cab.
Oban-based plant hire company, Mellex, showed off the pristine model of one of the most popular vehicles ever made.
The T Cab is know for having a bonnet for the engine, and allowed the driver to sit higher up in the vehicle when driving a lorry.

Many of them are still in use, but the Scania version went out of production in 2005 – until a newer model was introduced in 2017.
As well as Ford Escorts, sports cars and some of the earliest motor vehicles on the market, there was also a show by Lorn Model Engineering Club – which ran a steam engine on a short track for younger visitors to have a ride.
