Police are appealing for information to help trace a Sheffield man who has gone missing in the Cairngorms.
Andrew Moorhouse was reported missing from his home in Sheffield and it’s believed the 46-year-old travelled on public transport to the Highlands arriving in Aviemore yesterday.
He is described as 5ft 9 inches in height, stocky build, with red and greying short hair, dressed in outdoor clothing and carrying a backpack.
Search efforts are being co-ordinated with partner agencies at this time, including Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team.
A statement said: “Police in Aviemore are anxious to trace Andrew Moorhouse, aged 46, who is from Sheffield but is currently missing in the Cairngorms area.
“We are urging anyone in the area – particularly walkers and cyclists in rural locations – to keep a look out for a male matching Andrew’s description and to report any sightings via 101.”
Mr Moorhouse is reported to be walking alone on forest paths between Aviemore, Coylumbridge and the Cairngorm mountains.
