A stretch of the A82 Glasgow-Inverness road will be closed overnight from tomorrow evening to permit resurfacing work at Alltsigh, Loch Ness.
The overnight work will start on Wednesday and will take two nights to complete.
Work will take place between 9pm and 6am each night, to be completed by 6am on Friday.
Due to the narrow carriageway, the A82 will be closed in both directions during working hours to ensure the safety of both road workers and road users, with ‘amnesty periods’ provided at 11pm, 1am and 4am during the overnight closures.
There will be no traffic management through the day to keep disruption to a minimum, however a speed restriction of 30mph will be put in place as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.
Eddie Ross of BEAR Scotland said: “The £90,000 surfacing improvements will greatly improve the road surface on this section of the A82, creating a safer and smoother journey for motorists.
“The traffic management in place is essential to ensure the safety of road workers and road users, however our teams will look to do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.
“We thank motorists and the local community for their patience in advance and would also encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website before setting off for up to date traffic information.”
