Reports of two missing walkers in Wester Ross sparked a full scale mountain rescue team hunt in the early hours of Saturday.
Police were contacted by the family of two men, from the Perth area, who were reported overdue from a walk of the An Teallach ridge in Wester Ross.
Shortly before 4am, 16 members of Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team began a search of the mountain, assisted by a the Stornoway Coastguard helicopter.
They found the walkers safe and well, near Corriehallie, at 8am.
The pair appear to have become disorientated and were forced to deviate from their intended route, which resulted in them spending the night out on the mountain.
One of the men had suffered a minor leg injury as a result of a fall.
Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team leader Donald Macrae stressed the importance of careful route planning before embarking on mountain walks – especially one as demanding as the An Teallach traverse.
