A crewman has been rescued from an upturned boat in Loch Duich.
Two 999 calls were received by Stornoway Coastguard shortly before 1pm today, reporting an upturned vessel in the water near to Inverinate.
Kyle inshore lifeboat, Kyle Coastguard rescue team and the Rescue 948 helicopter were all dispatched to help the crewman who was sitting on top of the upturned vessel.
A spokesman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Stornoway said: “We were called to an incident at Loch Duich, in the Kyle of Lochalsh by two 999 calls with reports of an upturned vessel with one person on top.
“We tasked Kyle inshore lifeboat, Kyle Coastguard team and the Rescue 948 helicopter.
“A passing fishing vessel was able to assist and rescue the crewman and help to tow the vessel into harbour.
“There was only one person aboard the vessel.”
