A woman has been rescued after falling from a cliff on the north coast.
The woman, who has not been named, was said to have been walking in the Whalligoe area, near to Wick, when she slipped and fell more than 25 feet into the water.
She fractured her arm in the fall.
A spokeswoman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Shetland said: “We had a call in regard to an injured female who had fallen from the cliff into the water.
“We tasked Coastguard Rescue Teams from Wick and Duncansbyhead to assist the women who was unable to climb the steps up the cliffside to the road.
“We were told she had fallen from the cliff into the water and she had fractured her arm in the fall.”
The woman has been taken to hospital for treatment.
