A 27-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Wester Ross.
The collision, involving the man’s motorbike and a car, occurred on an unclassified road between Applecross and Loch Carron yesterday afternoon.
Police and paramedics were called to the incident at about noon.
Following the arrival of paramedics and a full assessment being undertaken on the injured biker, an air ambulance was scrambled to fly him to hospital.
The casualty was swiftly transferred to Raigmore Hospital where he was described as being in a “serious but stable condition” with “injuries not believed to be life threatening.”
Local Coastguard teams also attended the incident to assist in closing the road.
The rural route remained closed for several hours are various teams worked at the scene before it reopened shortly after 5pm.
