Emergency services are on the scene of a major road accident near to Dingwall.
The busy A9 is currently closed in both directions north of Skiach Services at Evanton, while emergency services deal with a serious RTC.
UPDATE:
Motorists are asked to alternate routes where possible.
The road is likely to be closed for a lengthy period of time.
Diversions are being put in place by BEAR Scotland, and will divert traffic to B9176 then B817 through Alness.
A Police spokeswoman said: “We are currently dealing with a major incident on the A9. Both lanes are closed while emergency services are in attendance.
“The road is likely to be closed for a number of hours and drivers are asked to use alternative routes.”
