Emergency services were earlier today attending to an incident in Kingussie after a piece of harling from a chimney stack had become loose.
Police and fire personnel attended the scene at the building on the towns High Street after the stray harling has caused concern for the safety of passing pedestrians.
Nobody has been injured as a result of any falling debris.
The incident was first reported at 2.40pm with one fire crew from Kingussie attending, followed by a height appliance from Inverness.
The stray harling was assessed by the Inverness crew to ensure the safety of passers-by, before being removed alongside a total of 10 chimney pots.
Firefighters utilised small tools to remove the debris, with a road closure put in place around the two-storey block of flats whilst the area was made safe.
A police spokesman confirmed the road had fully reopened shortly after 5.40pm, with diversions put in place locally.
He added: “We were made aware of the incident; however, it was referred on to the fire and rescue service and Bear Scotland.
“Personnel were in attendance but more in a supporting role to the other organisations.”
A spokeswoman for Bear Scotland said: “We were alerted to some fallen masonry on to the A86 in Kingussie earlier this afternoon by Police Scotland, who requested us to help close the road for safety.
“The A86 was closed between Gynack Street and King Street for safety, with traffic diverted locally.”
