Police are appealing for information after a teenage boy was assaulted on the Black Isle.
The alleged incident happened around 9.30pm yesterday in the Manse Brae area of Rosemarkie.
A 15-year-old boy suffered a non-life threatening head injury which has required treatment at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
Detective Constable John Beverley said: “We are carrying out inquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“These inquiries are at an early stage and anyone who can help is urged to come forward.
“A small dark-coloured car is believed to have been in the area around that time and we would ask anyone who could help us identify that vehicle or its occupants to come forward as they have information which could assist our inquiries.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference NE1390/19, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
