Emergency services including an air ambulance has been called to a crash involving three vehicles outside Oban.
UPDATE 1.36pm: The road has now reopened in both directions.
UPDATE 1pm: A man has been taken to hospital in Glasgow however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
It is understood that only one person was injured in the accident.
Police hope to re-open the road as soon as investigations are complete.
UPDATE 10.55am: Police have confirmed that one person has been seriously injured as a result of the crash.
The road is expected to be closed for a number of hours.

The incident, that involved a black Audi, happened at around 8.30am this morning on the A816 Oban to Lochgilphead road, just south of Kilmore.
A Police spokeswoman said: “All emergency services are in attendance of a three-vehicle collision outside Kilmore.
“Local diversions are in place and police we are asking motorists to use alternative routes.”

It is unknown if any of the occupants of the vehicles are injured.
