No serious injuries have been sustained in the incident, with first reports received at 9.20am. The crash took place near to the hospital on the A857 Stornoway to Laxdale road, with three fire crews sent to the scene of the incident. The firefighters, consisting of two crews from Stornoway and one from Shawbost, arrived on scene and made the area and vehicles safe. A police spokesman said: “The road was initially blocked but one lane of traffic has since reopened. “No serious injuries have been sustained with the recovery of the bus to be arranged.” Firefighters departed the scene at 10.23am. A Ford Focus was the make of car involved in the incident.
