They had been walking near Kingsteps when they became stranded this afternoon. The coastguard and The Moray Inshore Rescue Organisation (MIRO) were dispatched to the scene shortly after 5.30pm. The inshore lifeboat retrieved the trio from the sandbank and took them to Nairn Harbour. No one required medical attention. Emergency crews were stood down at around 6.20pm.
