They had been walking near Kingsteps when they became stranded at around 5.30pm. The coastguard and The Moray Inshore Rescue Organisation (MIRO) were dispatched to their aid. The inshore lifeboat retrieved the trapped trio and took them to Nairn Harbour. No one required medical attention. Emergency crews were stood down at around 6.20pm.
