A walker who was injured as a result of a fall last April has repaid the faith of his rescuers by undertaking a mammoth ultra-trail challenge in blistering heat over Mont Blanc.
Bruce Shaw has generously donated the £700 he has raised from the challenge to the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team (GMRT) after they came to his aid at Clachaig West, alongside a Coastguard search and rescue helicopter.
Mr Shaw said: “Without the help of them that day it could have been a very different story to tell.”
A GMRT spokesman said: “The Team would like to thank Bruce for his support, it is much appreciated. It is fantastic to see you back on your feet and able to take part in such a full-on marathon.”
